We love seeing the announcements each year for the “Young” hospitality finalists, looking forward to what these passionate rising stars will bring to the future of our industry as it undergoes significant changes. No doubt the 2017 finalists will have a wonderful time on their food and tour of Queensland.
These kinds of famils are becoming increasingly important for hospitality operators as consumers become more engaged in the ‘stories’ behind the food they are eating, including ethical production methods, whether or not the produce is local, and seasonal trends. Australian consumers in particular are becoming increasingly more educated on the nutritional aspects of food and the effect this can have on their own wellbeing.
