It provides locals and travellers job opportunities and also provides events for tourists to enjoy! In 2017, Australia hosted 8.8 million international visitors. This was an increase by 7.1% from 2016! The hard work and dedication to each hospitality craft is one of the reasons for this.

AFL

Every Aussie loves the thrill of a close AFL game and so do many tourists. There is nothing quite like being rugged up in your team’s scarf, eating a meat pie and watching your favourite player kick goal after goal. This is an industry sector which generated $6.45 billion in financial contribution to the Australian economy in 2017.

HOSPO HIT: AFL is said to be influenced by early forms of soccer and rugby to create a sport which is only known in Australia. It has also been suggested that footy was influenced by Marngrook. This is a traditional Aboriginal game that involves players kicking a ball high into the air. The ball can be made of animal skin that is stuffed with charcoal or feathers.

The above mentioned Major Events and so many more play such a huge part in Australian tourism. So much of this money goes back into the economy and into the community. Hospitality and tourism provides jobs for many and we continue to see growth in this sector year by year! Thank you to all our Pinnacle People for the impact our industry provides to Australia!
